IMPLEMENTATION, SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE LIBRARY INFORMATION SYSTEMS 

In recent years, everyone knows, and this is the great truth, that the survival of every language and culture in the new global information society depends on both the opportunities to be on the Internet, as well as the actual presence on the Internet.
Moving to new information technologies have emerged big problems, both to process, transmit and present a written creation of the Serbian people, which is mainly written in Cyrillic, and our respect for international standards and rules.
As a basis for addressing these issues served Unesco software package CDS/ISIS, Webisis interface jointly developed by UNESCO and the World Health Organization (for South America) and its Center of Biomedical Scientific Information in Brazil, part BIREME, and applications of CDS/ISIS-in WINISIS.

SOFTWARE WINISIS

The application Winisis is made ​​in the software package CDS/ISIS, which is used in over 130 countries and thousands of institutions. The application was developed by the Centre for Scientific Information and RD NBS and I have upgrade and customize it for the Windows XP operating system. Winisis software is in Cyrillic, and handles almost all the Cyrillic and Latin alphabets, and it is installed in a number of institutions of science and culture in the Republic of Srpska.

The software CDS/ISIS was recommended by the UNESCO General Information Programme and as a standardized software package for libraries, archives, museums, etc. INDOC service. and other institutions in the world system of scientific and technological information. It is based on basic international standards. Allows use of many languages ​​and alphabets, and more software systems (DOS, VMS, UNIX, Windows).
The official version of the basic software package CDS/ISIS 1.5 for Windows Operating System was obtained from UNESCO, and with great effort had been completed modifications to the application and resolved some important issues. The simultaneous processing of all documents in Cyrillic and Latin alphabet used by the Serbian people and the English Latin alphabets has been settled, thereby creating the conditions that such a data set on the Internet.
Database of the software can be linked with the Greenstone software for creating digital collections where they serve as a source of metadata.
